"If I have any worth, it is to live my life for God so as to teach these peoples; even though some of them look down on me." St. Patrick

We are thankful to God that our heat and electricity are back up and running, and that we have completed a full week of school. We pray giving thanks to our merciful God.

When we go without these necessities, and the things we enjoy for a period of time, we are reminded of the poor around our country and the world who do not experience the luxuries that we enjoy and take for granted in our daily lives. Let us always keep the less fortunate in our prayers and do what we can to help them.

This week we are hoping to finish most of the IOWA testing that was scheduled for last week, but some of the testing may go into next week. The diocese has given us an extension until March 23 to complete the tests.

Tonight the daughters will be dancing with their daddies at the annual Father/ Daughter Dance, and tomorrow some of students and parents of the St. Therese School will be marching in the Sussex County St. Patrick's Day Parade in Newton, NJ. Parents and students will meet in the St. Therese parking lot and leave at 9:30 am for Newton, NJ. All students must wear their winter uniform. Jackets and fleeces with St. Therese insignias are permitted, and of course some green as well. Looking at the weather report, it looks as though St. Patrick will be smiling down upon us with plenty of sunshine.

Please see the revised school calendar, which has been put up on the Friday Folder. Holy Thursday will now be a full day of school with aftercare. On Good Friday we will be running a half day retreat for students k-8. This is a very Holy Day and it will be treated as such. There will be no preschool on Good Friday. School will be closed on April 2, 3 and 4th. School will reopen on Thursday, April 5. Any snow days that are taken before Easter Week,  will made up during Easter Week. If we use any days after Easter Week, the days will be made up at the end of the year.

For the month of May, there will be a full day of school on Friday, May 18. There is no scheduled Teacher-in-Service.

In June, the 8th grade final exams have been moved to the week of June 4-8. Our 8th Graduation, Awards Ceremony and Bacculaureate Mass will take place on Wednesday, June 13.

Our Prek 3 and 4  Graduation will take place on Thursday, June 14. And our projected last day of school will be Wednesday, June 20. I hope the revised schedule helps you for planning purposes for the month of April, May and June.

Please see the Friday Folder for the service projects being done by our first and second grade teachers. Information on purchasing a yearbook can also be found on the Friday Folder.

Don't forget that next week on Saturday, March 24 from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm St. Therese will be holding a Scrap & Craft Day Crop Fair. All information is on the Friday Folder.

Finally, congratulations goes out to our 8th grade CYO Boys" Basketball Team for winning the 2018 Upper Morris County CYO Championship, and also to our second graders who made their First Reconciliation on March 10. Five more second graders will make their First Reconciliation tomorrow,  March 17. May the Holy Spirit be with them.

Everyone have a Blessed St. Patrick's Day Weekend,

Tim Dunnigan
