"The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." John 1:14

by Timothy Dunnigan Email

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary. Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and God became man and He dwelt among us. How fortunate for mankind. God is so merciful that he sent  His only Son to redeem us.

Once again congratulations to Fr. Marc who celebrated his 25th anniversary as an apostle of Christ. We are truly indebted to his service here at St. Therese School and Church. May God continue to guide him as he guides his flock.

Students are celebrating the first week Advent by lighting the first candle, reading scripture, saying prayers of the faithful and praying the Lord's prayer.

Over the last few weeks we did have a personnel change. Ms. Muller who was working with Ms. Dohrmann in grade 5 has moved to take over the reigns in grade 3. Ms. Muller in her short tenure has worked in pre-k, grade 4 and grade 5. Ms. Muller graduated from Bloomsburg University and has a certification with advanced standing. We are blessed to have someone of her caliber teaching in grade 3.

All week in our computer class our students have been doing coding and programming activities to celebrate Computer Science Week and the Hour of Code.

Congratulations to our kindergarten class and Mrs. Tironi. They collected the most boxtops in our HSA boxtop contest and have been rewarded with a pizza party on Monday, December 11.

Congratulatons to the prek-4 students who performed their annual Christmas show today. It was truly outsatnding and will be memorable for years to come. Thank you Mrs. Reed and Mrs. McDonald.

The St. Therese School yearbook is now on sale. The cost is $28.00 and order forms are on the Friday Folder.

Next Friday, December 15 is our annual Christmas Concert. Mrs. Warga, Mr. Mallinson and our students have been preparing for weeks. The concert begins at 7:00 pm, but you may want to arrive early as it will be a standing room only crowd. We look forward to seeing everyone. I can't think of better way to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Have a blessed and safe weekend. The snow is coming.
