"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old is gone and the new is here!" Corinthians 5:17

The New Year has come and resolutions have been made. I hope everyone enjoyed a very Merry Christmas with their loved ones, and I wish everyone in the St. Therese School Family a very Happy and Healthy New Year. I have made many, many resolutions in the past and I have broken many resolutions in the past. My prayer this new year for the St. Therese Family and myself is that even if we don't fulfill our New Year's resolution, we continue to stay faithful to Christ and be examples for our children and others.

This coming Friday, January 12 there will be a DVD viewing and live acts for The Talent of Hope Show. There is still time for students to get a 3 minute act together and perform if you would like. The show begins at 6:30 pm. For more information check the Friday Folder on the St. Therese website.

Our Calendar Raffle that gives people  multiple oppotunities to win begins on Monday, January 8. We will have a later drawing on the first day of drawing to give any late entries an opportunity to get their tickets in.  Drawings will take place every Monday until April 16.

We should be getting test results from the COOP test next week and high school notifications will be mailed to students next Friday, January 12.

Midterms will take place the week of January 22-26 for grades 4-8.

This year the diocese will be using the Iowa Basic Skills Test and COGAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) for grades one thru eight for the spring of 2018. Tests will be administered the week of March 5-8.

On Saturday, Janury 27 our eighth grade will be hosting their annual "Meatball Madness" in the gym after the 5:00 pm mass. We promise you will leave full so bring your appetite and as always we appreciate your support.

Finally, we are once again running a bus to Washington DC for the "March for Life" on Friday, January 19, 2018. Members of our seventh and eigth grade classes and some faculty members will be making the trip. The invitiation is open to all parents of the St. Therese School. We have 55 seats on the bus, so please call the school to reserve your seat if you would like to go. The day will start with Fr. Marc celebrating a "Mass for the Unborn" at 6:00 am. The bus will depart from St. Therese at 6:30 am and return at approximately 9:30 or 10:00 pm. On our way down we will pray the "Rosary for the Unborn."

God bless! It's a new year! Stay warm!
