Our eighth graders graduated in a beautiful ceremony of the mass celebrated by by Fr. Marc, Father Andres, Deacon Bruce and Deacon Murpphy on Wednesday, June 13. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 8th grade on this very special occasion. Know that you have impressed me during the two years I have been principal at St. Therese.

In those two years I have watched all of you grow more poised and confident in your capabilities. Know that you have contributed much to the St. Therese School and those contributions have helped your own development.

I know all of you will do well in the high school you have chosen and that you will continue to make all of us at St. Therese proud of your future accomplishments. I wish you the very best in your high years ahead. May they be happy and fulfilling ones.

Congratulations is also in order to our prek-3 and prek-4 students as they graduated in an awesome ceremony that took place on Thursday, June 14. We await our final graduation of our kindergarten class on Monday, June 18 at 10:00 am.

This past Saturday, May 12, half of our second graders received their First Holy Communion, and this Saturday, May 19 the remaining half of the second grade will receive their First Holy Communion. Please join me in keeping these beautiful children in our prayers, and let us continue to be examples of the faith by receiving communion with them as they move forward.

Today, our second graders will proudly crown the Virgin Mary in the May Crowning, which will take place at 1:00 pm in the church.

Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Cardinale and our students for going the extra mile at the STEM Symposium at Caldwell University on Tuesday, May 15. St. Therese being one of twelve STEM schools in the Diocese of Paterson presented exhibits of numerous STEM projects that have been done throughout the year by all of our students. Our eighth student presented 3-D printing and demonstrated their exhibit of "Dining With Dignity." Using the 3-D printer, our eighth grade students designed and created eating utensils for people who suffer from arthritis and other metacarpal disabilities allowing them to eat and dine with dignity.

Much thanks goes out to all of the volunteers, donors and HSA members who made the St. Therese Golf Outing a huge success on Tuesday, May 15 at Black Bear Country Club. We weathered the storm and everyone involved had a great day. Special thanks to Matt Wines, our HSA president for the countless hours he put into this worthy fundraising event

Our final General HSA Meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:00 pm. We hope that you can join us in this final informational meeting of the year.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It's a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Our Book Fair will take place on May 22, 23 and 24 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm in the gym, and at the HSA meeting on Tuesday, May 22 @ 7:00 pm. There is a new digital payment option for students called e-Wallet! Now you can send your child to shop cash-free! Visit our Book Fair Homepage to learn more and create an account @ http://www.scholastic.com/bf/sttheresesch8. You can also shop the online fair until May 30. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.

In years past we have always done our New Parent Meeting on the date of our last HSA Meeting, but this year in order to allow for a longer question and answer period without rushing to the HSA meeting, we have decided to hold it on a separate night. That night will be Monday, June 11 at 7:00 pm in the Grade 6 classroom.

Finally, I ask everyone to pray for the children, the families, the bus driver and teachers from Paramus, NJ,  and the truck driver, who were involved in the tragic traffic accident that took place on Route 80 in Mt. Olive on Thursday, May 17. Our hearts and prayers are with them.
